1. General Information

By booking an appointment with Bark & Brush, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

They are in place to protect your dog’s wellbeing and to ensure fairness for all clients.

All services are provided one-to-one in a calm, professional environment.

2. Appointments & Cancellations

    •    Appointments can be made by phone, email or social media.

    •    Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

    •    Cancellations made with less notice or missed appointments may incur a 50 % charge of the booked service.

    •    If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be shortened or rescheduled.

3. Health & Welfare

    •    Dogs must be fit, healthy, and up to date with vaccinations at the time of service provided.

    •    Please tell me about any health issues, allergies, or recent operations before the appointment.

    •    Dogs showing signs of illness (coughing, vomiting, diarrhoea, parasites etc.) may be refused for grooming.

    •    If fleas are found, a £10 cleaning fee will apply.

Your dog’s comfort and safety always come first. Grooming may be paused or stopped if your dog becomes too stressed.

4. Behaviour & Safety

    •    Please disclose any history of aggression, anxiety, or behavioural issues.

    •    Bark & Brush may refuse or stop a groom if behaviour poses a safety risk.

    •    A muzzle may be used when necessary, always calmly and compassionately.

5. Matted Coats

    •    Severely matted coats may require clipping short for the dog’s welfare.

    •    Bark & Brush is not responsible for irritation or minor nicks caused by matt removal.

    •    Extra time required for de-matting may incur an additional charge, agreed before continuing.

6. Accidents & Emergencies

    •    Every precaution is taken for your dog’s safety, but grooming involves sharp tools.

    •    In the rare event of an accident, you will be informed immediately.

    •    If urgent veterinary care is required, we will contact your vet (or the nearest practice) and act in your dog’s best interest.

    •    If veterinary treatment is required due to a pre-existing condition, natural reaction, or unforeseeable incident, the owner is responsible for all veterinary fees.

• If injury or illness occurs as a direct result of proven negligence or error by the groomer, the groomer’s insurance will cover reasonable veterinary costs.

7. Payments

    •    Payment is due on collection of your dog.

    •    Accepted methods: cash, card, or bank transfer.

    •    Prices may vary depending on coat condition, behaviour, or extra time required.

8. Photography & Social Media

Photos may be taken before and after grooming for records or promotion on Bark & Brush social media.

If you’d prefer your dog’s photo not to be shared, please let us know when booking.

9. Data Protection (UK GDPR)

Client and pet details are stored securely and used only for booking and communication.

Bark & Brush complies with UK GDPR and never shares information with third parties without consent.

10. Liability

    •    Bark & Brush cannot be held responsible for pre-existing health conditions or skin/coat issues discovered during grooming.

    •    While every reasonable care is taken, we are not liable for indirect loss such as missed shows or emotional distress.

By booking an appointment with Bark & Brush, you confirm that you:

    •    Are the legal owner (or authorised caretaker) of the dog.

    •    Have disclosed all relevant health and behavioural information.

    •    Accept these Terms & Conditions in full.
